Our bedrooms are decorated in a contemporary Scottish feel. We have created a boutique hotel experience that you are looking forward to in the heart of Pitlochry.
Rooms vary in style and size in keeping with our Victorian architecture too (remember we’ve no lift). McKays Townhouse across the road has rooms and 2 apartments that are away from the hustle of the hotel and live music. We also have a limited number of dog friendly rooms available so book early for these.

The McKays Hotel, Bar & Restaurant in Pitlochry are a dog-friendly team that know you want your best friend to enjoy their stay too. So, we’ve made it easy for your dog to enjoy their stay, with all the home comforts: a dog bed and water bowl and their own welcome pack. We promised you more than a room.
With many walks in Pitlochry on the doorsetp of McKays Hotel – there’s no need for the car to take your dog for their morning and evening strolls. There are beautiful views, woodland and loch side walks – all to be explored together.
Dogs are welcome to dine with you in our dog friendly restaurant too, so you can rest assured, you and your beloved pet will both be catered for.

But much more than that, the staff are superb, the rooms are clean, spacious and well looked after, the food is great. They have entertainment most Fridays/Saturdays. “Spent 3 nights at McKay Hotel in their Athol Cottage, was a great experience very clean and roomy, we treated it like you would just booking a Hotel room with the added advantage of having the two bedrooms, a sitting room, a small kitchen and bathroom, had our breakfasts in the Main Hotel, and a couple of dinners, food is absolutely amazing.. “I was too early for my train and as it was freezing (and there were no loos open anywhere!), I decided to pop in. I ordered a scrambled Egg roll and a pot of tea. Both were fabulous as was the efficient, friendly service. Lovely ambience, lovely people, great food. Would recommend”
