Birthdays @ McKays

Are you looking for the perfect place to host your birthday party? Then you have found the “perfect” place, our private function room even has its own bar, stage and DJ booth, so why not have a band or disco to really get the party going!

Whether you are looking to have a sit down lunch or dinner or perhaps a delicious buffet, we can cater for it all.

Maximum private dining numbers for a sit down meal in our function room: 100+

Maximum private dining numbers for a buffet meal in our function room: 120+

You can also have your birthday party in the front bar and restaurant of McKays, but unfortunately this would not be private, as there would be other customers dining here.

There is of course the option to hire the whole of McKays Bar and Restaurant this included the front and back function room this would cater for approx 250 people, there would also be an exclusive use hire fee when taking the whole premises.

A Birthday Plate - Free of Charge

Our chef writes “Happy Birthday Name” on a dessert plate. The only trick is getting the Birthday Boy or Girl to order a dessert and letting us know who it is! This has to be arranged in advance.

Birthday Cake

Starting from £25.00 upwards depending on how many it is for and any special requirements. Our standard 7” cake (£25.00) can be made to your liking, chocolate, sponge, or fruit and with chosen fillings and toppings. All cakes must be arranged 10 days prior to the occasion. Why not add a fire work to your cake for an extra £3.50! To make a real statement.

You may also decide to decorate your table with balloons, banners or flowers, if you bring it all in advance of the event we will take care of all this for you.


We can organise Bands, DJ’s, Magicians, Clowns, Dance Acts, any entertainment you like as they say "it’s my party and I'll cry if I want to" If you have an iPod and wish to play your favorite music then feel free and we can plug it in to our sound system. Please so ask for more information as entertainment will have to be organised well in advance.

Other things to think of when planning your birthday party

How many guest will be attending and eating

Perhaps some arrival drinks like cocktails, prosecco or champagne

What about some canapés on arrival

We will need to know your menu choices

Would you like to pre order some drinks, cocktails, wine or champagne during the meal

Table plans – how would you like your table lay out to look

Perhaps you would like to organise some decorations

Do let up know if you or your Party will be making any Speeches

What time would you like to arrive and have your meal

Perhaps you would like to organise some nibbles for later in the evening for your guests

Here at McKays with our 100 seat function room we offer corporate groups a privates a warm and relaxed environment for business meetings, presentations and launches, in the heart of Highland Perthshire.

Should you wish to hold a meeting here we are able to offer the following:

Wedding Breakfast @ McKays

Your wedding venue is somewhere very hard to choose, and hard to trust that they will deliver the best possible day for you, I can guarantee that we will make it a day to remember. We are happy to tailor your event to suit your tastes and budget to make your special day an individual and memorable one.
